One of the key points for me, is that when having a conversation you need to "be present". This means giving the person your full attention, not multi-tasking, or being ready to jump in with your own opinions, stories or ideas.

No doubt we have all been guilty at some point in time, of forming our responses, questions, or comments while someone is talking to us.
Active listening is skill......one that takes effort to master.
