Start, Stop and Keep...

I have been looking back over my NAPP year and the notes I have taken. I came across my reflection from Hui about what I planned to start, stop and keep...
START - Talk less and listen more. Implement coaching.
STOP - Trying to "fix" everything.
KEEP - Questioning.........asking WHY?
Over the course of the year I have become a much better listener. I listen first to understand. I have trained myself to deliberately 'pause' when the speaker has finished. This 'silence' will often prompt them to continue. It is usually after the 'pause' that the speakers feelings about a situation will surface, allowing us to reach the heart of an issue.
Coaching has enabled me stop 'fixing' things. Through coaching I have been able to affect change.
I am a curious educator who is constantly question, researching and making connections in order to get the best outcomes for the learners in our school.  WHY? has become my key word this year. Why am I doing this? Why is it important? Why is this the best way? Why was this successful / not successful?
Reflection has become part of what I do daily. It is an important tool in my leadership kete.
So what am I going to start, stop and keep going forward?
STARTFocusing on work / life balance   -   Three weeks ago I began my postgraduate certificate in digital and collaborative learning, so I will need to ensure that I am super organised and that I make time for my family and time for me.
STOP - Taking on too much  -  It is in my nature to help people and at times I say "Yes" when I really should say "I'm sorry but I have too much on at the moment".  I need to prioritise.
KEEP - Reflecting deeply on my learning and acts of leadershipThis has been an invaluable part of my leadership growth.
